When you think of basketball coaches, who do you think are the Greatest Of All Time?
Recently, I was listening to a podcast by Tony Robbins where he published his interview (from 30 years ago) with the Legendary Coach John Wooden. This interview (which I will talk about more in a separate post on this blog) had some great content and it got me thinking about other coaches (living or past) who might have interviews (or books) out there that I can learn from.
I can still remember reading Coach Wooden’s book, “They Call Me Coach” back when I was in middle school or high school and I hope that I have lived up to at least some of the principles he taught. Wouldn’t it be great to learn from basketball coaches we consider the Greatest of all time?

Below is my Top Ten list (with a couple extras) of basketball coaches I consider the Greatest of all time (not necessarily in any particular order) …

- Dean Smith, North Carolina Tarheels
- Coach K, Duke Blue Devils
- Red Auerbach, Boston Celtics
- Phil Jackson, Chicago Bulls & LA Lakers
- Geno Auriemma, UConn Women’s Basketball
- Pat Summit, Tennessee Women’s Basketball
- Bobby Knight, Indiana
- Hubie Brown, NBA
- Rick Pitino, Providence College, Kentucky, Louisville
- Larry Brown, NBA
- Greg Popovich, NBA’s San Antonio Spurs
- Morgan Wooten, Dematha High School, Washington, DC
- Bob Hurley,Sr., St. Anthony High School, New Jersey (28 State titles)
- Dave Wheeler, Wilton-Lyndeborough Cooperative (WLC) High School… [just kidding]. (I added this to see if you were paying attention!)
